Barclays shows incredible lack of leadership after 10 years

The inability of Barclays Bank to see this problem, for what it is. Shows a credible lack of leadership from the shop floor right up the management ladder to the very top. It's now obvious to anyone. They seem to be stuck between denial, anger, are trying to move towards bargaining, and still face depression and acceptance of what is happening.

Barclays denied that there was a problem when I contacted them with a query, they continued with an overtly agressive policy which included closing my account. Then moved swiftly to deny that I had a right to see the paperwork, which moved into the paperwork wasn't available. Was perhaps lost while this was being investgated by them. (which really is a clue) They kept the pressure on us on, ineffect holding us to ransom in our own home. With the threat of repossession held over us. After being lied to by Barcalys Bank about the location of the paperwork or who the custodian of this material was.

I finally with the aide of the ICO, Financial Ombudsman, my MP Dr. B Spencer and the Equality Comission most of whom agreed I had a point. We got limited access to the forms. The subsequent released information showed that what was claimed to not exist was infact sent out as redacted files. My request to see the originals did get an answer of sorts, however the complete files are still not yet available to me. All of which suggests Barclays Bank are still in a state of denial

Could it be Barclays are angry? I would guess so however if this anger is channelled in a positive way remains to be seen.

The Ombudsman recommendation was to negotiate, they didn't want to be drawn into a position between entrenched parties, hwoever Now Barclays Bank want to revisit this, more than likely in the knowledge that the Ombudsman will again not wish to be involved. So it's a play for time...? The question it raises is why..?

When we end up in court it's my guess and we all have to produce evidence of how we mitigated the case, I can clearly show, I've brought the problem to the bank as soon as I was made aware of it, I actively tried to findout the state of play, get all the facts into a timeline to establish where the failure first appears, even with strong opposition from the bank I was able to build a pretty good set of sign posts to what the problem has been. I've gone on to negotiate, made offers to resolve and allow us all to move on.

However reviewing Barclays actions over the last ten years.... it's been obstruct, deny, threaten, reply in a way that the information supplied by Barclays Bank makes it impossible to be used to establish the facts, Call me a liar which must be part of the bargaining strategy? Refuse to negotiate or respond in any way....! Not exactly the way a regulated, accountable company that claims to have ethical behaviour at their very DNA of everything they do....

The Ombudsman cometh

So we've been back to the #Ombudsman, after being ignored by #Barclays since the 23rd Jan 2025 this year which in my opinion needed to be be looked at. I should clarify for the last 10+ years we've h
