`So according to #Barclays we should accept their terms and I should give them another 40-70K and in a year from now we can negotiate.... This is actually a repeat of last years, which when we reached the 12 month changed to "Well we don't want to negotiate!" says Barclays... A year was wasted the facts remain the same. The Ombudsman recommended negotiations, #Barclays chose to ingore this... instead proclaimed themselves as a victim. While I have acted entirely honourable in this matter and it's now plain as daylight #Barclays chooses to act in this predatory manner. Hopes to damage us beyond any point of recovery and beyong doubt.
Is this how a huge company should behave...? I've just emailled my rejection and reasons below #CSVenkat #csvenkatakrishnan #BarclaysUK
We have already been in this process for a year, after being told by #Barclays that if we did this period the whole matter would be discussed and a negotiation about all of the issues would start. After I prove good faith.... however, this appears to have been a lie on behalf of #Barclays. As I did the very best I could and showed good faith in all aspects of this what I was told was a first step to negotiations.
Why reject this second offer, a better question would be why should I accept it based on #Barclays past performance...? please see the below points
#Barclays after being told what happened to me, chose to close all my accounts, thus terminating any contracts that exist between us.
#Barclays when asked to explain these actions chose to ignore me, came up with what on hindsight appears to be a load of lies, actively tried to stop me getting access to files relating to what happened, both to do with the mortgage and my accounts and still retians in the region of 30K of my money.
#Barclays chose conflict threats against us, the weapon of repossession, trespassed on my claim for compensation After my near fatal accident.
#Barclays continued to lie, twist the facts to better protect its position and actively worked against me while I was trying to find a way forward
#Barclays staff who've listen to my offers to settle this matter agreed that my approach was by far the simplest way to clear up this mess.
However, #Barclays senior staff must have actively chosen to not listen to the Ombudsman's advice and the recommendation to negotiate, instead they've chosen yet more conflict.
#Barclays tried to coerce me into signing a debt entirely created by #Barclays in my name into a personal loan while fully aware i could never repay such an instrument.
#Barclays chose to send a man to threaten my wife, to the point she had a break down, this man claimed to be a #Barclays employee, which also appears to be a lie.
I have requested from #Barclays information that relates to how the mortgage was created how the process was formalised and show the contract between us.
#Barclays to this point fails to produce this information, there is a single sheet of paper that #Barclays. claims is the smoking gun the contract between us, yet there's nothing that supports the how the contract for formed, how the affordability was calculated and who signed this off... Which supports my argument the lending was at best impossible and so missold at worst financial fraud against me to trap me in a product that simple can never be paid back.
#Barclays by closing my accounts destroyed the very financial instrument that should have paid the mortgage off, which looking at it closer it would never do anyway. This leads me to think Barclays are trying to cover up it's involvement. In what not looks like a complex fraud of which I am the victim.
#Barclays has repeatedly ignored the Ombudsman recommendation to negotiate
#Barclays has repeatedly ignored the Information Commissioners request to supply me with the information
I have acted entirely honestly and above board with #Barclays, however this whole process has been used by #Barclays to exert pressure on me/ my family and tried to make us break under the relentless pressure #Barclays can bring down on us.
The recommendation was to negotiate, why would I agree to pay in the region of 40-70K to then be told that Barclays chooses to not negotiate.
This is why I have no other choice than to reject the offer and again request we negotiate the whole matter of what #Barclays has been doing to us for the last nearly 14 years.
I have made every effort to resolve this matter and Barclays really needs to get to the table to discuss this once and for all.
I have also made every possible effort to pay a debt I didn't create, if #Barclays is of the belief, they could get a repossession order past a judge this would have happened a long-time ago. I'm certain no judge in the country will allow 4 disabled people, who are in a substantial dispute with one of the largest banks. Who've paid over and above what's due to be made homeless to benefit Barclays. This would make this a huge story and a great deal of negative press for #Barclays. I therefore make my offer again to negotiate a settlement on all of the issues...
